Occupy the Ballot is a way to work within the system, to challenge the system. The idea of consensus and general assemblies presents an alternative to the broken two-party, majority-rules, electoral system. If candidates are truly representing the voice of their constituent General Assemblies, then it doesn’t mater what party they are from.
Consensus transcends the cycle of winners and losers and will help communities work together, probably for the first time. Once the 99% starts to work together, we will see that we aren’t really that different, and that the perceived divides between us are just another method of control by the 1%.
